Sounds of Spring: Stone Theory/Wonderful Bluffer/The Dead Bolts/Clementine

Apr 28, 2023 @ 6:30 pm

A night of rocking tunes to celebrate spring!!

Stone Theory – Vintage Rock n Roll from Southern Wisconsin. The group’s members are Jake Cole, Kelly Cole, Matt Phillips and Kade Kozak. Jake and Kelly are siblings and have been playing music together since they can remember. The group truly are best friends and try to bring originality and dedication to their music.

Wonderful Bluffer – Since 2018, Wonderful Bluffer has sought nothing more than to disarm and enchant audiences with the undying spirit of rock n’ roll. In just a few short years, the Milwaukee-based rock band has managed to craft a style of music all their own, with influences spanning across many genres such as blues, folk, metal & prog-rock.

The Dead Bolts – While The Dead Bolts may hail from Chicago, upon listening to their latest album Pretty and Burnt Out, you wouldn’t be faulted for thinking you had discovered a great new southern rock band. The group knocks out salty blues guitar riffs, shuffling R&B rhythms and brazen attitude with a complete ease, and the vocals are delivered with a twangy drawl that could be mistaken for the Kings of Leon.

Clementine – Milwaukee has a thing for emo. Back in the ’90s, groups like The Promise Ring and Hey Mercedes put the city on the emo map; these days, Telethon, Versio Curs, Live Tetherball Tonight, and many more carry the big-guitars-and-impassioned-vocals torch. Add Clementine to that latter group. For the past few years, the Milwaukee four-piece (not to be confused with another Milwaukee band called Clementine, which was active in the mid-’00s) has been playing out on the strength of its excellent 2017 emo/pop-punk EP This Will Hurt. But a new single, “Lucinda,” may be the band’s best work yet.
