Shake off the winter chill and gather again with friends and family for Milwaukee’s Magical Holiday Tradition. Dancers from around the world create a winter wonderland in this timeless story, steeped in festive cheer.
Join us for the 25th and final year of the current production, before an all-new Nutcracker takes the stage in 2023!
THE STORY
The Tannenbaum children embark on a journey to a fantastical world created by the mysterious magician Drosselmeyer. Their holiday gifts come to life during their travels with the Nutcracker Prince protecting them from the evil Rat King.
THE MUSIC
Milwaukee Ballet Orchestra plays Tchaikovsky’s iconic score live. Experience the wonder of the world-famous suites, including “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy,” “Waltz of the Flowers,” and “March of The Nutcracker.”
THE SHOW
With a cast of more than 150 dancers, this holiday favorite features elaborate sets, lavish period costumes, special effects, and magic tricks! The Nutcracker is underscored by Milwaukee Ballet School & Academy who dance onstage with the professional Company.
PROGRAM DETAILS
Running time is approximately ninety minutes with one intermission. This ballet is recommended for all adults and children age 4 and older. Generally, if your child can pay attention to a full-length movie in a cinema, they will probably be able to enjoy the ballet.
