Lakefront Park in downtown Pewaukee will once again be filled with live music every Wednesday night all summer long for Waterfront Wednesdays on Pewaukee Lake. \nThe bar will be open for sale; no carry in of alcohol is allowed. Yes\, we wrote it twice on purpose. \nFeatured image above from our family enjoying Waterfront Wednesdays in downtown Pewaukee. \nEnjoy the concerts and take in the lake views. If you live along the lake or own a boat\, come via your boat and listen from the water. Be sure to come ashore at some point and snag some yummy refreshments to support the great music and events along the Pewaukee lakeshore that we love so much! \n\n  \n  \n\nCreator of Lake Country Family Fun\, Melissa Peterson\, noted\, “I love[d] to pack up the little ones and drive down and grab a blanket and watch them dance to the music. When the natives start[ed] getting restless we will stroll along the beach front and back by the business and occasionally stop in and grab and ice cream cone. It is a favorite of mine. I love that I can usually easily find parking and the children are out and enjoying music without a care in the world. There is a concession stand as well if you forget to pack your snacks that night and a full bathroom as well. So grab your chairs and blanket and make a night of it!” \n\nFind more FREE SUMMER FUN and our Bucket List: 77 THINGS TO DO THIS SUMMER! \n

SUMMARY:Betty Brinn Children’s Museum Sensory-Friendly Session
DESCRIPTION:The Betty Brinn Children’s Museum welcomes children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or sensory processing disorders (SPD) and their families to their Sensory-Friendly Session. They understand a visit to the Museum can present challenges for some children. They have worked to create an event where children can enjoy their Museum experience in a calmer\, quieter space. They hope the Sensory-Friendly Sessions will provide opportunities to navigate social situations\, encourage peer-to-peer interaction and develop confidence through play. \nThe sessions will include open-play and facilitated programming. The Museum may welcome trusted community partners to attend to provide resources and answer questions. No proof of qualification will be required. \nAfter thoughtful review and conversations with families and community partners\, they are moving Sensory Friendly Sessions to the first Saturday of each month from 5pm-7pm. This change allows more families to attend and helps staff create a more consistent\, calm environment during these dedicated hours. \nFamilies can expect additional programming and resources designed to support caregivers\, promote comfort\, and enhance each child’s experience in the Museum. \nSensory Friendly Sessions are designed to create a welcoming and accessible environment for children with autism and sensory processing differences. During these sessions\, the Museum reduces noise and visual stimulation\, limits attendance\, and offers a calmer atmosphere so children can explore\, learn\, and play in ways that feel safe and supportive. They also put additional safety measures in place to support children who may be at risk of elopement (wandering away from caregivers)\, helping families feel more at ease during their visit. \nThanks to the generosity of the community funders\, Sensory Friendly Sessions will continue to be completely free of charge for families. Advance registration is required so staff can maintain a comfortable capacity and provide the best possible experience for all guests. \nBetty Brinn Children’s Museum Sensory-Friendly Session 2026 Times:\n\nFebruary 7\nMarch 7\nApril 4\nMay 2\nJune 6\nJuly 4\nAugust 1\nSeptember 5\nOctober 3\nNovember 7\nDecember 5\n\nFamilies can enjoy the Museum experience in a calmer\, quieter space during these special evening sessions on the first Saturday of every month from 5-7 p.m.\nPlease reserve tickets online at https://bbcmkids.org/tickets/.\n\n  \nBetty Brinn’s services\nThe Betty Brinn Children’s Museum features interactive exhibits and engaging educational programs that promote children’s mental\, physical and social-emotional growth through play. Our makerspace invites families to participate in a wide variety of STEAM activities\, workshops and community projects.\nThe Betty Brinn Children’s Museum is committed to ensuring access for all\, offering outreach programs that serve historically underserved children and families\, including low-income and those with special needs.\nAs an industry leader\, the Museum creates high-quality\, academic-based exhibit products for peer organizations and family-friendly venues around the world. \nAbout the Betty Brinn Childen’s Children’s Museum:\nThe Museum is named in honor of Betty Brinn\, a successful Milwaukee businesswoman who spent most of her childhood in foster homes and orphanages throughout Wisconsin. As an adult\, Betty dedicated her life to helping underprivileged women and children in the Milwaukee area secure health care. Her kindness affected many individuals\, and her generosity and love of children continues to impact the city of Milwaukee. Betty passed away in 1992\, but her legacy lives on through the thousands of children who learn and play in the Museum each year. If you would like to learn more about the life of Betty Brinn\, read “On Her Own: The Story of Betty Brinn” by author Priscilla Pardini and illustrator Joanne Scholler Bowring\, which is available in many libraries throughout Wisconsin. \nSpecial Exhibit\nVelocity – This special exhibit helps children explore the science of motion and makes it fun to learn about basic physics concepts. Children can roll and race golf balls on tracks\, loops and hills to experiment with momentum\, friction\, gravity\, acceleration\, speed and distance.\nThe Floor is Lava\nLed by our Playlab initiative\, children are challenged to climb\, jump and problem-solve their way through a pretend volcano. The only rule is not to touch the ground\, because the floor is lava!\nPlease join in for Free Admission to Betty Brinn Children’s Museum! \n\n  \n\n\nRelated Posts: \nOur Experience with Glomado and the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum

The park offers playgrounds for children of various ages\, two baseball/softball diamonds\, two sand volleyball courts\, and reservations of the Bertrand Family Pavilion (Contact via email at oklc.reserve@gmail.com or phone at 262-560-0532) and preparation areas. Feel free to contact them to host your next event in the heated pavilion that can be rented year round. \nThank you to the greater Okauchee Community for your generosity and support.  The Lions will continue to “Serve” the public. \n Follow Okauchee Lions Days on Facebook. \n\n  \nFind more FREE SUMMER FUN and our Bucket List: 77 THINGS TO DO THIS SUMMER! \nFind ALL THINGS SUMMER.
