Cocoa Tree “It hardly seems like four years have gone by…”

As far as anniversaries go, four years may not seem like much of a milestone, but when you open in the wake of a worldwide pandemic every day the doors stay open is reason to celebrate.

It hasn’t always been easy, but the challenge has been worth it. I’ve watched my staff grow from high school freshmen, all the way to college. Some have moved on to their chosen careers, others are still coming home during vacations to make a few bucks. It’s a source of pride and bittersweet at the same time.

We’ve had the same growing pains with our product line. Over the years, we learned what worked, what was a total ‘flop’ and what just needed a little tweaking. We added gelato over the summer months, both in the shop and as a traveling ‘road show’ at festivals and private events. It has been, and still is, a work in progress.

In the end, it all comes down to the community. They are what keep us strong. Without support from local businesses, schools, and neighbors, we couldn’t have come this far. They are a big reason why we keep doing this, and they are how we keep going strong”.
