Film Screening: “Martha Liebermann: A Stolen Life”

Jan 21 @ 12:30 pm

Lubar Auditorium

Join us for the Milwaukee premiere of a film about the courageous life of Martha Liebermann, artist Max Liebermann’s widow, in Nazi Germany. The film explores the choices people made to protect what was rightfully theirs—and also to protect one’s legacy during a time of brutality and persecution, all the while knowing what the ultimate outcome will be. Before the screening, join the express gallery talk for a tour of the exhibition Art, Life, Legacy: Northern European Paintings in the Collection of Isabel and Alfred Bader with a Museum staff member to explore topics and themes in common with the film. A conversation between Dr. Rachel Baum, deputy director, Sam and Helen Stahl Center for Jewish Studies, and Dr. Dan Haumschild, education director, Jewish Museum Milwaukee, will follow the screening.
