Funkadesi delivers a virtuoso, high-energy experience like none other. Named “Most Outstanding Group” by the Chicago Music Awards in Spring 2022, Funkadesi proudly hails from Chicago, representing its diversity through music.
Blending Indian bhangra, Bollywood, and folk with reggae, funk, and Afro-Caribbean grooves, the band emphatically personifies their motto: “One family, many children…Insisting we all belong.”
With unprecedentedly diverse members – Indian-American, African-American, Jamaican, Latino, and European-American – this 11-time award-winning ensemble celebrated 25 years of togetherness in December 2021.
